That's why at momonde, we consciously choose cotton-elastane or cotton-polyester blends—with intention, not to save money. It's a design decision, not a compromise. Because when you're designing oversized sweatshirts and T-shirts that need to hold their shape, stay soft, and retain their shape after three washes, pure cotton simply isn't enough.
Where nature meets technology
For lighter weights—like our T-shirts—we use a blend of 92% cotton and 8% elastane. This classic combination of cotton and elastane is no accident. This subtle addition makes a huge difference. Elastane acts as a discreet anchor for shape: it prevents the fabric from stretching endlessly, bunching up at the elbows, and losing its shape after the first day of wear. Cotton with elastane drapes better, moves beautifully, and—most importantly—doesn't stop being cotton. It simply has a bit more elasticity and grace.

For thicker fabrics, like those used in our oversized sweatshirts, we reach for 90/10 or 80/20 compositions—that is, cotton and polyester. This type of blend—cotton and polyester—in the right proportions acts as subtle armor: it strengthens the fabric's structure, increases its resistance to pilling, extends its lifespan, and—a nod to all aesthetes—helps it maintain its shape for months.
Conscious composition, conscious choice
What we wear matters. Not just in terms of style, but also durability, function, and responsibility. At momonde, we believe that less is more—but only when less is truly good. That's why every material decision is carefully considered: from weight to composition percentage. Because clothes aren't seasonal fantasies. They're everyday items that deserve quality. And cotton? Cotton no longer plays solo. It plays as part of a team—and it sounds better than ever.
